Capt Mike’s arsenal consists of high-end, precision, spinning tackle primarily. He has chosen to equip his guests with St Croix rods, in both the Avid & Tidemaster series. Based on past experience and winnings, these rods seem to perform the best giving their angler a lightweight feel with heavyweight results!

The reels of choice are the Daiwa Sol and Tierra models...both of which handle smoothly and deliver accuracy and great fishability!

The tackle you use is vital to peak performance and end result....Capt Mike feels that he has “done his homework” on this, and has chosen the finest tackle and gear to enhance your overall fishing experience.

As for bait of choice.........well....that would have to be LIVE BAIT!! Time and time again, the trophy fish in Mike’s portfolio have been caught using live menhaden, choffers, pigfish, shrimp, or mullet. Not only is the excitement and action of the bite unparalleled, but catching the bait themselves can be quite an experience! Throwing a cast net is exciting to watch, and digging your treasures out of the net....is a “rush” in itself.

Another option for your expedition may be using ALL ARTIFICIALS...We aren’t discounting the effectiveness of these baits in any way...

Capt. Mike has a vast selection of plastics, lures, spoons, grubs and GULP, that also can produce superior results when used in the correct environment and conditions.
